The elastic hem is sewn continuously all the way around, so it stays tucked under the mattress even after my dog does his nightly spin-and-settle routine. The percale feels crisp and cool the moment I slide in, and the long-staple cotton has gotten softer with each wash without pilling.
I've washed it three times now and the percale only gets softer, that crisp hotel feel is still there but the edges don't pucker at all. The long-staple Egyptian cotton is noticeably smoother against my skin than my old set.
