I was skeptical about how soft a tightly-woven cover could be, but this cotton protector is noticeably breathable and doesn't crinkle at all. The allergen barrier is a nice bonus, and my duvet insert stays in place without bunching up inside.

My allergies have been significantly better since putting this on my duvet. The tightly woven cotton really does block dust mites without making the cover feel stiff or crinkly.
